JACQUELYN BLUE

Jacquelyn graduated with honors from California State University Northridge with a degree in Art History. She is the past president of the Los Angeles Art Core and past president of the Malibu Art Association. She is an active member of Allied Artists, Pastel Society of the West, Laguna Plein Air Painter's Association, the California Art Club, and Women Painters West. She has just joined Oil Painters of America.

She has completed workshops with Maggie Price, Kim Fancher Lordier. Richard McKinley, Gary Blackwell and Susan Ogilvie, all accomplished, professional pastel artists. Jacquelyn paints plein air whenever possible and from her own photos and sketches in her Malibu studio. She has recently completed a pastel series of local coastal and mountain landscapes.  

Jacquelyn's work was selected for juried shows at the Santa Monica Gallery and the California Heritage Museum. Her recent pastel, "Sunrise at Latigo" won first place in the Malibu Art Association's juried show at the Santa Monica Gallery in 2006 and her "Golden Hills" mixed media (watercolor & pastel) was included in the May, 2006 Laguna Plein Air Painters Assoc. annual juried exhibition, juried by Tyler Stallings, Chief Curtor of the Laguna Art Museum.

In March, 2007 her pastel "Luminous Horizons" received a 2nd place award at the MAA juried member's show & "Sierra Vista" won 1st prize in the June, 2007 show.  In 2008 "Fall Reflections" won 2nd prize at MAA's Emeritus College Gallery show, "After the Storm" won 3rd place at the Women Painters West show at the Creative Arts Center.  "Waltz of the Wildflowers" was juried into CAC's show 
and was on display at the historic Blinn House in Pasadena.  "Goleta Estuary" and "Malibu Lagoon" were juried into the Pastel Society of the West Coast's membership show at the Vacaville Museum in 2008 and "Afternoon Delight" was juried into their 2009, "Pastels USA" show,  at the Triton Museum.
